Halle and Trey

I took just a couple pictures when we were home last of Halle and her new little brother Trey. This next time home I will take more of them, I was busy and didn't have much time. They are so cute, and it is really crazy how much they look like each other as newborns. I am pretty sure Halle looked just like trey at that age (with the exception of a bow on her head). We are excited to head back home and see them again!

The many faces of Halle......

I was going through some pictures and found a ton that I still have not edited of Halle. She is so hilarious I just had to put these up! I cant wait to see the other baby Harker at her age, good personalities and funny senses of humor run in the family :). Here she is, I am pretty sure most of the time she is just modeling for the camera!

One Year and Counting :)

So last weekend Jordan and I celebrated our one year anniversary! I cant believe that we have already been married for a year, its so crazy to me! We found a great deal on a little hotel up in Park City and went up there for the weekend to celebrate. The hotel was really nice, and had an awesome pool and two huge hot tubs! The pool had this little thing that you swam under so you could swim outside and inside and never have to get out of the pool to do it! And the hot tub was huge, it could fit seriously like 30 people and when the jets turned on Jordan said it looked like Fantasia (which apparently he thought was a creepy movie, weird boy). Well we went to the Olympic park and toured the museum there. The ski jumpers are insane, those jumps are HUGE. I was really surprised they were that big because that event is honestly not that exciting to watch. But for someone to actually go off one of those jumps... they are crazy! We then went to this place called the Red Rock Brewery and ate. I had this portobello mushroom sandwich on focaccia bread which was AMAZING, we got drinks and appetizers and I could barley move by the time we left! Side note.... there were a few restaurants we were looking at, and I got out of the car to look at a menu and some 50 year old guy was walking into the restaurant and was like "come on im buying!" It was super awkward, and I am pretty certain he was serious. Jordan said I should have taken him up on the offer and then told him my husband was coming to join us. After dinner we went to Rocky Mountain chocolate factory and got ice cream, then we swam and slept in the next morning (lucky for us there was a missionary farewell so we didnt have to get up for 8 am church like usual!) We had a great time and I look forward to celebrating many more anniversarys together :)

By the way...... Jordan started watching this show called Gossip Girl. Its pretty much the OC in New York with way more money. It is my new all time favorite show. We finished season one in like 5 days (18 episodes... I hope I pass college). And Kali wont give away any spoilers so I admit to those of you that watch it.... I have youtubed everything that happens through the current eposode with Blair and Chuck. I hate the games that happen with the one couple on shows that your just dying to have live happily ever after. It never happens. I sat through the same tourture with Greys Anatomy.

Projects

Lucky you, if your reading this you get to see yet another project that I am working on at school! Sorry it sort of consumes most of my time, I think Jordan and I will both be thrilled when we are both done. Well I have been busy working on some photography projects, this class has been a struggle for me because I really do not think the same way as the teacher. But I think I have made some pretty cool images. Here are the next two, the topic was beauty and he didn't want it to be cliche so hopefully these are far enough away from want most people would do. I choose to show the beauty of creation, they are not done yet, I have another week to work on them but here is where they are at now.

On another note, Jordan is a very artistic person and honestly I think if he wanted to he could probably make a living doing it. He loves playing around with photoshop and trying all sorts of new things. I think he actually has a much better eye for montage and adding stuff together then I am. Here are a few things he has done recently.

Well hope you all enjoyed those. We are celebrating our 1st anniversary this weekend in Park City! We are so excited and will have some fun pictures to post next week when we get back! YAY for the holidays, no more school, good food, and spending time with family, see most of you very soon!

On a brighter note.....

This semester I decided to take a figure drawing class, even though I was really nervous that I couldnt draw very well. It turns out this has been one of my favorite classes of my entire college career! Dont get me wrong, I LOVE photography and will never stop doing it, however I really enjoy drawing and think it really could add to my work later on down the road. Here are two that I did in class this week, and then pooh and snoopy were just me being bored and blowing off my homework. PS. Excuse the nakedness..... OH and kali cut and colored my hair last week and I LOVE it! hopefully I will get some pictures up of that soon!

ugh...

Well unfortunately for America we really had terrible choices with both presidential candidates this year. Wow. I will say the one thing that I was Super nervous about was passing Prop 8 which did and now I feel SO much better. I don't understand people's hate towards our church. For those of you who saw the stupid commercial with the two guys pretending to be missionaries (if you didn't see it, don't it will just make you angry) what in the world was that!?!?!?! Completely, 110% uncalled for and WAY out of line. I mean seriously, people are so out of control and the thing that is funny is most of them don't have the slightest clue what they are talking about. We are good people, and one of the things that bugs me more then anything is when they attack President Monson. Give me a break. It breaks my heart that our world has become so evil. It scares me to think of what our children will have to deal with. I take comfort in knowing that our kids will be able to face the trials they are given as long as we prepare them. Despite everything in this crazy world, I am proud to be a member of our church and be associated with everything that is wonderful about it.

Relaxing weekend... kind of!

We went down to St. George this weekend to spend some time with my grandparents and then go to Vegas for a day for the BYU lacrosse games. We had a really fun time seeing my Grandma and Grandpa Gogarty, they are so funny and we love spending time with them. It was nice to have a few days to just talk and relax with them at their house. On Saturday we drove to Vegas for four BYU lacrosse games. I did pictures for all of the games (hopefully I will get a chance to get them edited this week), sports photography is so much fun and I am so glad that I have opportunities to do it so often. Actually I think eventually I would like to get into it more because it is way more fun watching games through a lens then in the stands! I think I pay way more attention. I think Las Vegas is the most awful place in the world! It is so disgusting that there is a place where people go and absolutely loose all of their morals, and money just for a weekend of what they consider fun. Weird. Its dirty, and so gross you couldn't even smell the rain that was falling when we were walking around outside. Anyways we drove home this afternoon and we are excited to go back! I think we are actually going to go back in January to see them again and run the Half Marathon (with Heather and Jason)! Oh and tonight for dinner we made orange chicken...... new favorite meal! It was AMAZING! Here is the link if you want to try it!

http://www.recipezaar.com/103215

I made some adjustments to the recipe mainly because we didn't have everything we needed and it still turned out amazing!

I DID NOT add:
Ginger Root
Rice Wine
Sesame Oil

I DID add:
some orange juice. We doubled the orange sauce so I put in 3 tbsp of orange juice.

If you try it Enjoy!

School Project

I have a photography class that basically is just learning photoshop all semester and so our projects have to use a lot of photoshop in them. Anyway we had to do a triptych and I was having a really hard time trying to come up with something that didn't have to do with lacrosse (a lot of my photography projects for school for some reason always have something to do with lacrosse). I have decided that it probably is just because it has been such a huge part of my life for so long so I decided for this project, to once again do something with lacrosse. Oh and my subject seems to always be the same person.... maybe someday I will just do an entire series titled "32". Oh and by the way typically I do not work with large canvas sizes (thats what they are called in photoshop) however this one is pretty big. The center piece is 10x20 and both of the side pieces are 8x10, so if I ever frame and mat it I would be huge. Let me know what everyone thinks of this one.... I called it "The Thrill of Victory, The Agony of Defeat".

We have been busy....

Sorry for the lack of updates recently! We have had lots going on! This past week everyone came out to see us and we had Jayme and Halle stay at our house! It was so much fun, Halle is such a funny little girl and is beginning to get such a great personality. The only bad thing about how cute and fun she is... it makes me want one. Don't worry that wont be happening for a bit, get me through school and into work! Here is my list of top 5 things I loved when she was here:

1. Her love for balls. Any kind, she had a nice variety at our house ranging from a huge yoga ball to tons of lacrosse balls.

2. Her love for football. I included a picture, you can guess which one it is (she is not in a towel or with a toothbrush so the other one :) ) She LOVES football and at like 10 pm was yelling and pushing buttons on the xbox controller while the recaps were on espn.

3. Her toothbrush! I love when she brushes her teeth, she is so obedient when Jayme tells her to do it! And lets be honest I think I am buying a toothbrush that sings the Thomas the train song because sometimes I would push the button and listen to it when she was out and about. Jordan hated it..... I loved it!

4. Her kisses. So cute.

5. When she has her bottle, shes very snuggly then and if you can get to her first then she is yours to keep for a good twenty to thirty minutes!

Here are some funny pictures of her, I have a bunch that I need to get edited I just have not had time! So hopefully soon there will be some new ones up!

I shot my first wedding last weekend! It was sort of tough because I was not sure what to expect, however I enjoyed it and got some really nice shots. I am starting editing those pictures tomorrow so I will try and put some up. I just recently updated my website! Go check it out and let me know what you think, it has drastically changed from the first go around. www.victoriabainesharris.com. Photography has been going well, I am anxious to get done with school so I can start working on doing it full time. I love portraits, it is so much fun because every one is so unique and has such a different personality that your pictures are always changing. Oh and I have been taking a figure drawing class this semester which I was super nervous about, and its my favorite class. I think I am taking it again next semester (for 3 more credits and to get better) as well as two other drawing classes. Well I think that is it for now..... I will try and post on here more, I have been great about keeping my brother's mission blog updated and terrible about ours. By the way for those of you who have not kept up with him, he is doing GREAT! Go read his blog if you have time because his letters are very fun to read. OH and for those of you who want some fun and way cute blogger templates... visit http://www.thecutestblogontheblock.com

Coltons Mission Blog

Well Colton is off on his mission. It is very weird and I really miss him :( But I am very excited for him and the experiences that he will have over these next two years. I am keeping a blog for him that will have pictures (when he sends home the memory card to me) and then his letters that we get while he is on his misson. Check it out so that you can keep up with what he is doing!

www.elderbaines.blogspot.com

I will write a better blog later, school has been kicking my butt and I have just not had the time! And Jordan has been working like crazy to make sure we can pay rent each month! Oh how glad I will be when the days of college are over with. All I want to do is work (well work as in taking pictures), maybe I will eventually go into wedding photography....great market.....stupid people that you have to deal with (mainly brides).... I guess we shall see how this first one goes in a few weeks!

Halle Slideshow

You'd be surprised how much time went into this. and how late we stayed up figuring it out. Halle was a good subject though.

Victoria is trying to get everything ready for her big website launch (coming soon to an internet near you), and one of the things we needed to figure out was how she was going to slide shows on her website. We found a good program for it, but we needed to figure out how to tweak it and make it work right for her site. After 2 hours we finally got it all figured out. This is kind of a test slideshow, but Halle is so cute we decided to keep it up. Victoria is going to edit the photos and add some from another shoot soon, but we figured we would let the world get a sneak peak. Let us know what you think!

Cute boy!

Last week when we were home I also was able to take some pictures of Greyden (Christina and Jared's son) he is so cute! We had fun playing in the backyard and sometimes he would laugh when the camera was pointed at him. I really have been enjoying taking pictures of people. I am very excited to see where it will take me!

Busy Week(s)

We will take some pictures once its organized so everyone can see it. But then we had to go back to Colorado right after we got everything moved over to go to Colton's endowments at the Denver Temple. Everything is scattered around our house however it was pretty amazing to be able to see my younger brother go to the temple. I am so proud of him and the choices that he has made in his life. Even in the last two months I have seen such a tremendous spiritual growth in him, I can hardly believe that he was that little boy with the curly afro that I would tie to my play kitchen chairs (yes the same ones we just moved from) just because I wanted him to play and he wouldnt want to. Hes grow a little since then........

Well in addition to Colton's endowments I did Jeremy"s senior pictures which turned out very nice and I can't wait to sit down and get them edited! He and Jordan look SO much alike it is really funny! Here is a picture of my cute husband with Jeremy (I will post some of Jeremy's pictures probably next week when we are back from Vail.)

And so our next adventure is to Vail, Colorado to Play some lacrosse! I cant wait I am SO excited to pick up a stick again and actually play against girls who are good! Our team has a bunch of people that I played with at DU as well as a friend of mine who plays at Ohio State and a few others from various Division 1 programs around the country. Jordan is also playing and I am excited to watch him beat some kids up! It will be a great week!

Halle!

Jayme, Max, and Halle came to stay with us last night. It was so much fun to see them and I just bought a new camera lens so I was able to try it out on Halle! She is so cute and has the funniest personality! We had a nice time visiting with them today and I was excited to put some of the pictures up of Halle, here she is!

A lot has happened in two short weeks!

It has been a few weeks since we last blogged. Actually the last time was on family vacation.  First vacation update. It was awesome. First we went to Gateway, Colorado (30 min south of Grand Junction). It was a sweet resort and we spent our first day there 4 wheeling

Family Vacation 2 072

That was a ton of fun. We went to Moab for a few days after Gateway and went on some awesome hikes and we rafted to Colorado River. It was sweet. Raft trip Moab 011

I think our favorite hike was to Delicate Arch. It's the arch on all the Utah license plates. It was such an awesome hike. BY280507

That actually isn't Delicate Arch, but close enough right? I don't have those pictures on my laptop.

So after we got back from vacation things kind of got nuts. Victoria's sister Rachel stayed with us for a week, so we went on a quest to see how many times we could go to 7 Peaks in 1 week. I was also working a lacrosse camp the whole week. On Wednesday I had an interview with a hockey/lacrosse company based out of North Carolina who was looking for a Utah/Colorado sales rep. I felt that was a pretty good fit for me. I had a great interview with the guy, and after he took Victoria and I out for dinner to Outback (yum) and we chatted lacrosse for a while.

I ended up getting the job, so I am headed out on Monday for North Carolina to do some training, and then I will be working in Utah and Colorado. I'm way excited, and so is Victoria.

In addition to a new job, we are also getting a new place! We are moving in 2 weeks, and we couldn't be more excited. For those of you who visited us this past year you may have noticed our easy bake oven in our 4x4 kitchen. I'm pretty sure we have like 200 square feet in our current house. We are moving a few blocks to The Lexington (ohh fancy) to a very nice 2 bedroom apartment and we are very excited about it. So if you are in town you should stop by and check it out.

Victoria has been busy with her photography business, she is really starting to get stuff figured out. She will most likely have her website up and running by the end of the month. She is trying to get into doing children photography and sports. She is amazing at both, so it will be fun to watch her.

Anyway, a big update. Life is good in Provo, and we are staying busy, between our jobs, 7 Peaks Season Passes, and everything there is to do in Provo, we are having fun!
